ARE YOU CONSIDERING COLLEGE FUNDING FOR A CHILD OR GRANDCHILD? ASK US FOR FREE INFORMATION ON THE BEST COLLEGE FUNDING PLAN - Sec. 529 Plans!

THERE IS NO COST OR OBLIGATION

checkmark Check any of the following topics you would like to know more about regarding the best way to fund your children or grandchildren’s college costs.

FACTS YOU SHOULD UNDERSTAND!

State pre-paid tuition plans, Coverdell Education Savings Plans, UGMA/UTMA gift to minor’s accounts, savings bonds and Roth IRAs all have less advantages than the Sec. 529 plans and are all less flexible. Some are taxed in the college students tax bracket or tax advantages phase out for high income individuals.

SECTION 529 PLANS - IRS & Congress Approved
ESTATE TAXATION - contributions of up to $236,000 may be reduced from one’s estate taxation.
GIFTING TAX ADVANTAGE - up to $55,000 may be gifted in any one year to any number of qualified beneficiaries without paying any gift taxes.
INCOME TAX ADVANTAGES - tax deferral and tax free access for higher education?
MINIMUM DEPOSITS - typically $250 with $50 monthly contributions.
OWNER - the owner may be a parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt or other family member who names a beneficiary - whether directly related or not.
TIME LIMIT ON USING FUNDS - funds may be used 30 years after the beneficiary graduates from high school or 30 years from the date the plan was established.
CONTROL - the owner, not the beneficiary controls the funds - even after the college bound child reaches age 18 or older. If the child does not go to college the owner may change beneficiaries.
GRANDPARENTS OWNERSHIP - parents or children owning a college fund will count against them when completing college aide forms. Grandparents, uncles and aunts and cousins can often be the best owners to maxamize college aid loans and grants.
INVESTMENT OPTIONS - your choices will depend on child’s age.
