Charles J. Whitaker

The author of this pre-retirement and retirement planning book has over 32 years experience in the financial services industry as a business and an individual pre-retirement and retirement planning consultant. Mr. Whitaker is founder and president of The Internet Connection Association of Ohio, Inc., a non-profit financial education company providing a number of employee financial education programs. He is also founder and General Partner of The Advisor Group, Ltd. and co-founder of National Insurance Marketing Services, LLC.
He was formerly Assistant Vice President of MONY where he served as national director of retirement planning, responsible for training 80 offices nationally on how to provide employee financial and non-financial education programs. He was instrumental in setting up five community bank programs to offer full service retirement planning to bank customers. He is a speaker on the issues of aging, a writer and publisher and has provided consulting and training to financial planners, broker dealers, insurance companies and employers.
He has provided retirement planning programs for numerous companies on a national basis such as Martin Marietta Corporation, Monroe Auto Equipment Company, NASA Space Flight Center, Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation, Tiffin University programs, Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health Center, Meade Corporation, Ohio University "Communiversity" program, University of Alabama, Athens State College, OSU Extension Office, Brookdale Community College, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Mutual of New York employees, New Jersey Institute of Gerontology and a numbers of banks and other organizations.

Joyce A. Whitaker

Joyce Ann Whitaker, editor, was a house wife before she began her career in the financial services industry. She has served as vice president of four major corporations and as a marketing and public relations officer. She has served as a marketing specialist for First National Bank of Southwest Ohio. A "Hometown Holiday" annual celebration event she helped create won a bank marketing award.
Later she served as vice president of an association of over 150 financial planning firms in over 25 states. Joyce provided marketing and public relations support services for the association members. During her work with the association she conducted 12 national public relations and marketing seminars around the country to recruit new financial planning members. She was chosen as "the most outstanding employee" of the association winning its top award.
Her next career move was accepting the position of vice president of communications and marketing for Chicago's 10th largest privately held corporation where she was responsible for coordinating under one roof, all marketing, public relations and production for 10 companies of the conglomerate which included a bank, broker dealer, real estate development company, real estate management company and eight other companies. She reduced the marketing costs for the conglomerate by over $300,000 her first year as vice president.
Due to marriage, Joyce moved to New Jersey and took a vice president position for a New York firm where she served clients in the financial district such as Fred Alger Mutual Funds, John Templeton Mutual Funds and other financial companies. In 1989 Joyce and her husband decided to move back to Ohio to be near her elderly mother. After returning to her home state of Ohio, she has published a magazine for the city of Dublin called, "Dublin Magazine" which won the Bronze Quill Award for excellence in publishing. Joyce has also designed and owns an English restaurant and tea room and Victorian gift gallery located in a 1899 Victorian home on the Ohio Registry of Historic Places. In 2004 Joyce was chosen by the Small Business Administration (SBA) as one of 20 Ohio women business owners to be featured on the SBA web site.
